Kanchanjunga Base Camp trek, the third highest peak in the world situated in the eastern Nepal. Trek in Kachenjunga area is an experience of the remoteness, mountain views of Kanchenjungha range, various flora and fauna and local culture.Trek starting lowlands through rhododendron forests and villages of east Nepal up to the glacier.
Lapsang La is a little bit technical route otherwise it requires a good walking experience and a good physical form. Dovan, Sekathum and Chauki are Limbu villages. There is a Tibetan refugee village in Pholle. They come from Tibet crossing Olangchung pass in 1965. This village is pretty village. Visitors can buy here some souvenir. Gunsa is the bigest village in this region. It is also very nice village of more than 100 houses. Taxidermy of wild mamals and birds is kept in KKCAP head quarter in Gunsa village.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, reception at the airport and transfer to hotel. Welcome dinner with guide.
Day 02: Guided sight seeing in Kathmandu 4 major heritages sights.
Day 03: Fly to Bhadrapur Pick up and transfer to Hotel Birtamod 45mins drive, check in hotel then wonder around even there is not particular tourist attraction heritages, It will be in interesting to see you the local as its low land people daily life. Flight from Kathamndu to Bhadrapur is breathtaking seeing all the Himalayan range west to east could see all the eight 8000m. above mountains. Normally weather is good unless weather is cloudy then bad luck.
Day 04: Drive to Taplejung, over night, Takes about 6-7 hours Really nice sceneries on the way including world 3rd tallest MT Kanchenjungha, drive through Nepal biggest tea producing area Ilam tea garden.
Day 05: Trek to Sinuawa 6hrs. You are still in mid hilly side, beautiful valley of Tamur river. 1200m.
Day 06: Lelep, walking along the river of Tamur, Through cardamom farm, temperature expected to be hot because the river valley. 1600m.
Day 07: Trek to Amjilessa, Walking through alder trees still cardamom far, get into Amjilesa gets uphill. 2498m.
Day 08: Trek to Gyapla, walking through mixed forest as we are gaining altitude we get to go through rhododendron and some bamboo forest. 2725m 5 hours
Day 09: Trek to Gunsha, continue to gain some altitude, as vegetation changes, and landscape very pretty around. 3415m.
Day 10: Rest day here.
Day 11: Trek to Kambachen, another beautiful day along the river, mountain start to seeing up. Along the way should be watch out some time there can be rock falling, but its not like anything like landslides.4145m.
Day 12: Trek to Lonak, Terrain still along the river, not anymore tall trees, its more shrubby. If it was in season could pick the sea buckthorn barriers straight. 4790m
Day 13: Day hike to Kanchenjungha base camp. Its tough long day trip because there is no tea house at the base camp, it must be done from Lonak, we get Pack lunch enough water start early morning as possible so we will have time to get back Lonak in day light. I can be highlighted day because long day and getting into destination of the trekking.5140m. Highest point on the trek.
Day 14: Trek Khambachen traversing and gradually down.4145m
Day 15: Trek to Gunsha 3415m. terrain get down hill and traversing.
Day 16: Trek to Selele terrain gets uphill through forest, we get Pack lunch enough water, 4300m.
Day 17: Selele la pass over night at Tseram we get Pack lunch enough water start early morning as possible, 3870m.
Day 18: Trek to Ramche, walking up hill through rhododendron and juniper mix trees4580m.
Day 19: Trek to Oktang, as its gets high altitude shrubby juniper, gets moraine 4730m.
Day 20: Day hike to Yalung base camp. (South Kanchenjungha base camp).
Day 23: Trek to Tseram down hill and traversing 3870m.
Day 24: Trek to Yamphudin , we are lower down mid hilly region,2080m.
Day 25: Trek to Phumphe Dada, walking through terraces and villages of mixed ethnic group,1858m.
Day 26: Suketar Long day hike, its last day hike of the trekking even its long its enjoyable walking along villages and terraces.
Day 27: Drive to Birtamod 6-7 hrs.
Day 28: Fly to Kathmandu transfer to Hotel.
Day 29: Free day. Or departure.
