Upper Mustang Trek

Mustang trekking, Nepalese territory behind the Himalayas, had remained closed since very long time for foreigners.The territory with canyons, red & troglodyte cliffs, valleys and the surprising fortress of Lo-manthang has opened for all foreigners in these days. This is only a region having own culture of king / system of Rajauta still remain in Nepal.

Trans-Himalayan kingdom of Mustang, the restricted area, the kingdom of Rajauta situated in the area of about 3000 square kilometers. This land is geographically, culturally and climatically similar to Tibet. The capital of Mustang is Lo-manthang which is walled around. Tiji festival is celebrated only in Mustang. This festival takes place May-June month of the year .

Mustang trek, trekking behind the Himalaya, Lo-manthang trek starts from Jomsom along the bank of the Kaligandaki River from lower Mustang to Upper Mustang Lo-manthang. This route passes through different villages like Gheling, Ghami,Tsarang and Lho-manthang and Dhakmar beautiful landscapes, valleys, canyons, red and troglodytic cliffs and several Passes.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, we will pick up at airport, transfer to hotel, Briefing.

Day 02: After break your Sightseeing day starts around 9am.  Our City guide will take you to visit world heritage sites Biggest Hindu Temple Pashupati, Biggest Boudha Stupa and Swayambhu (Monkey Temple). Final preparation day for trekking, check the gears.


Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara (Over night in Pokhara) 

Day 04: Flight from Pokhara to Jomsom then trek to Kagbeni.

Day 05: Trek to Chaile  3000 m  7hrs

Day 06: Trek to Samar 3620m 3 hours 

Day 07: Trek to Jhaite 3820 m 5-6 hours

Day 08: Trek Charang 3560 m  8 hours

Day 09: Trek to Lo-Manthang 3840 m-5 hours

Day 10: Lo - manthang-  staying  in Lo-manthang we will visit various villages and monasteries and Cave. Horses ride  to explore further up to Chhoser village.

Day 11: Lo-Manthang –explore Chhosher village and monastery and Garphu/ Thinggar

Day 12: Lo-Manthang  

Day 13: Trek to Ghar Gumba 3920 m 5 hours

Day 14: Trek to Gheling 3570 m 5 hours  

Day 15: Trek to Chhusang 2980 m 7 hours mainly downhill

Day 16: Trek to Kagbeni 2800 m. 

Day 17: Trek to Jomsom 4 hours.

Day 18 : Fly  to Pokhara over night.

Day 19:  Fly or Drive back to Kathmandu. 

Day 20 : Free day or Departure
