The Langtang region offers great diversity in an area that is one of the closest trekking regions to Kathmandu. There are several treks which provide different opportunities for eco-tourism experiences, technical climbing and mountaineering challenges, trekking to glaciers and crossing high altitude passes. You may choose to trek through beautiful Tamang villages, seeing the rich culture and maybe learning a little about their wonderful textile heritage. Your trek could include a visit to sacred lakes, gompas, a cheese factory or wonderful vantage points that are well worth the climb. If time allows, shorter treks can be combined.
The Langtang area provides opportunities for both teahouse trekking and camping and is a wonderful option if time is limited.
Lang tang trek is one of the most beautiful sought after trek route. It takes about 5-6 hours drive to Dhunche by local transportation .Trek starts with a spectacular view of the Ganesh himal range as you walk trough beautiful rhododendron, pine, fir and alder trees. As you get higher up, the landscape & vegetation changes as you get to walk through oak and alpine rhododendron forest with a magnificent view of Lang tang lerung peak and Khang chhembu mountain. The local history is approximately 4 hundred 70 years old and the origin of the people is mainly Tibetans, who migrated over the Himalaya high pass, and settled in various mountainous regions throughout Nepal.
Kyanjin Gompa is the last village in this valley. Kyanjin Monastery is pretty interesting with the magnificent view of Langtang lerung, Khang Chhembu, Dorje Lakpa, Naya khanga, Yala peak, and many more. This route follows along the Langtang river from Sherpa Gaon and ends at Syabru Bensi.

Nepal has been on my bucket list for a long time. When a friend asked me if I would like to join her trekking and camping group, I jumped at the opportunity. I found out that the trail would be low level and will be below the Himalayan base camp.
The Himalayan Sunrise Trekking & Expedition company provided excellent services throughout the 10 day trek.
The guides are knowledgeable and very aware of the trekkers' needs and comfort. The owner Bishnu is particularly flexible in accommodating unforeseen circumstances. One trekker in the group had an injured knee yet she still wanted to participate in the trek. Bishnu hired a horse and its handler to assist her mobility!
The food was delicious and plentiful enough to satisfy the hungriest of stomachs after a long day of trekking.
Bishnu was also conscious of the campsite security. He had his team conduct rounds through the night. The special touch I most appreciated was the provision of a warm, wet face cloth after a long trek - how very refreshing!
This was my first experience in trekking. I found all the guides were very helpful and anticipatory. One of them was always walking by my side, to assist me when I needed a hand. I was very grateful.
It was an amazing experience to see the Himalayas first hand and to meet the cheerful Nepalese.
I give this tour company a 5 STARS rating.
